Melrose sits east of Waverley toward Melrose Arch, and the housing mix reflects it — long-established family homes alongside newer clusters and apartments with large, uninterrupted glazing. That newer stock tends to want what a modern build anywhere wants: motorised rollers and day & night blinds that all operate from a single app, sized to match consistent, regular window openings rather than the irregular frames you'd find in an older heritage street.
Folding-arm awnings are a natural fit for the outdoor entertaining areas that come standard with a lot of the newer developments here, turning a small balcony or patio into usable shade through the day.
